FAQ & Support
Quick answers to the things people ask most. Still stuck? Our Discord is the fastest way to reach us.
Do I need a Microsoft account?
Yes. Horizon Client only works with Microsoft accounts that own Minecraft: Java Edition. Offline and cracked accounts aren’t supported.
You sign in on Microsoft’s own login page — Horizon Client never sees your password.
It says sign-in isn’t approved yet
New Minecraft launchers have to be approved by Mojang before they can sign players in. If you see this message, our approval is still pending — nothing is wrong with your account. Sign-in will start working on its own once it’s approved; you won’t need to download anything again.
Windows says “Windows protected your PC” — is it safe?
That warning (SmartScreen) shows for apps that aren’t code-signed yet, which is normal for new apps. Click More info → Run anyway.
Only download Horizon Client from horizonclient.org. If you got the file anywhere else, delete it.
Which Minecraft versions get Horizon features?
The built-in features (minimap, waypoints, HUD, chat tools, cosmetics, emotes and the rest) work on Minecraft 26.2 and 26.3, both Vanilla and Fabric. Any other version still launches normally, just without Horizon features for now.
Do I need Fabric or any mods?
No. Horizon features are built into the launcher and nothing is added to your mods folder. If you want extra mods, create a Fabric or Quilt instance and add them — Horizon features keep working alongside them.
Can I use my own mods and resource packs?
Yes. In Mods & Packs you can browse Modrinth and CurseForge, or choose “Add your own” and drag files in. Each instance has its own mods, resource packs, shaders and worlds.
Can I run several accounts or versions at once?
Yes. Add more Microsoft accounts from the account menu at the top right, give each instance its own account if you like, and launch as many games at the same time as your PC can handle.
How do cosmetics work?
Cosmetics and emotes are made by the HorizonRealms team. You pick what to wear in the launcher’s Character screen (or in game), and other Horizon Client players see it on any server. New items appear automatically when staff publish them — players can’t upload their own.
What are the keybinds?
| Right Shift | Horizon menu (features, HUD editor, search) |
| B | Add a waypoint |
| J | Waypoint list |
| V | Emote wheel (hold, point, release — or press 1–8) |
| C | Zoom (scroll to zoom further) |
| = − | Minimap zoom in / out |
You can change any of these in Minecraft’s Controls screen, under “Horizon”.
Where is my data stored?
Everything lives on your PC in %APPDATA%\HorizonClient: your settings, instances, worlds, screenshots and downloaded game files. Your sign-in is stored there encrypted with Windows. To remove everything, delete that folder.
How do I get help?
Open a ticket in our Discord. If the game crashed, go to Instances → your instance → Logs, copy the log and paste it in your ticket.
